Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 specs leaked ahead of launch

As Samsung’s next Unpacked event approaches, set to take place at the end of July, a recent leak has unveiled the specifications and a collection of renders for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones, potentially spoiling surprises for those aiming to stay spoiler-free.

The leak initially surfaced from well-known tipster SnoopyTech and was subsequently reported by XDA Developers. The leaked renders, which bear an official appearance, showcase the Z Fold 5 in dark gray, beige, and light blue color variants, while the Z Flip 5 is depicted in beige, light green, dark gray, and light pink hues.

When comparing the Z Fold 5 to its predecessor, there aren’t many noticeable design changes, but the Z Flip 5 does exhibit some differences from the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. The Z Flip 5 boasts a larger cover screen and a rearranged camera configuration.

Previous leaks had already hinted at a larger cover screen for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 this year, similar to the recently unveiled Motorola Razr Plus. This enhancement would provide users with increased functionality even when the phone is closed.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumored to feature a primary 7.6-inch display with a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels, along with an outer 6.2-inch display boasting 2316 x 904 pixels. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

The camera setup is expected to consist of a main triple-lens module with 50MP, 12MP, and 12MP lenses. Additionally, there will be a 4MP under-display camera for selfies on the inside and a 10MP front-facing camera for external shots. The battery capacity is rumored to be 4,400mAh, matching that of the existing model.

Turning to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, reports suggest it will sport a primary 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080 pixels and a 3.4-inch cover display featuring 748 x 720 pixels. Internally, the specifications are expected to align with those of the Z Fold 5, except for a slightly lower 8GB of RAM.

The external camera module on the Z Flip 5 is anticipated to consist of a dual-lens setup, with 12MP lenses. For selfies, the device will likely offer a 10MP camera on the inside. The battery capacity is said to be 3,700mAh, matching that of last year’s models. While the larger cover display stands as the most significant upgrade, there are still enough intriguing features to pique interest in Samsung’s July showcase.

With these leaks now in the open, anticipation grows for Samsung’s Unpacked event, where the company will officially reveal the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones.
