Ferrari says focusing solely on Red Bull, Mercedes, and Aston Martin would be a ‘mistake’

Ferrari’s disappointing performance in the opening three races of this year’s Formula One season has left the team in fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship, without reaching the podium yet. Despite this, team boss Fred Vasseur insists that the team’s sole focus must be on improving their own performance before comparing themselves to their rivals.

The team faced criticism after two retirements from Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s penalty at the Albert Park circuit, which meant that the team didn’t score a single point. The team is struggling with an unbalanced car that lacks downforce, and they have been trying to resolve these issues with a major upgrade.

Vasseur believes that it would be a mistake to focus on Red Bull, Mercedes, or Aston Martin, as the team has to get the best out of what they are doing and focus on themselves. Ferrari has already made some inroads in Australia, and Vasseur believes that they will be on a better footing in Baku, where they will try to confirm their improvements.

Ferrari is currently 97 points behind the leading Red Bull team, but Vasseur is confident that the team will improve their performance by concentrating on their own performance rather than their competitors. The upgraded Ferrari won’t be on the track at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but the team will wait until the next round at Imola.
