Dragonflight adds a Realm First achievement for Mythic Keystone Dungeons in World of Warcraft

In Dragonflight Season 1, World of Warcraft introduces the Realm First Achievement for Mythic Keystone dungeons, but with a simple and entertaining twist.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has done a lot to further establish Mythic dungeons as a viable endgame option to Mythic raiding, and the addition of a Realm First achievement is one of the most recent moves in that direction. Mythic Keystone dungeons first appeared in Mists of Pandaria as Challenge Mode dungeons. Mythic Dungeon Invitationals have subsequently matured into a well-oiled source of entertainment and challenge, both within and outside of the game, as they have come to characterize the contemporary period of World of Warcraft’s esports scene.

In terms of Mythic Keystone dungeons, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight modifies the conventional formula that players have come to expect from Shadowlands. The elimination of vexing affixes like Inspiring and Necrotic, as well as boosting the item level worth of Great Vault awards, have all been critical in simplifying and enhancing this enormously popular World of Warcraft game mode.

Dragonflight’s Mythic Season 1 begins on December 12th. According to Wowhead’s datamining efforts, the raiding scenario will not only have the famous rush to World First, but it will also include a Realm First accomplishment for finishing a (+20) Mythic Keystone dungeon in time. Given the significance that the World of Warcraft community places on clearing a Mythic raid, Blizzard’s decision to increase the Mythic dungeon equivalent to (+20) legitimizes the game mode in the greatest manner imaginable.

The Realm First achievement for Mythic dungeons was first introduced in Battle for Azeroth and requires finishing a (+15) Mythic Keystone dungeon before the timer ran out. Though timing a “Fifteen” is no easy effort for the typical World of Warcraft player, it was a simple goal for the majority of the game’s elite players. Timing a “Twenty” may occur much sooner than the World First raid clear, but it will make the race thrilling in a way not seen before.

The pool of dungeons included in Dragonflight’s first season will adhere to the formula established in Shadowlands Season 4. Only four of the expansion’s eight new dungeons will be Mythic Keystone dungeons, with the remaining four spaces filled by updated dungeons from Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, and Legion. Poorly calibrated returning dungeons, which might derail the Mythic Keystone race, is one thing that players are trying to avoid in Dragonflight Season 1. Given that the creators designed the season from the start to include legacy material, this should be avoided.

World of Warcraft is now accessible on PC. Dragonflight will be available on November 28th.
