DJI, the world’s leading drone manufacturer, has released its new Mini 2 SE drone, which features a range of upgrades over the previous model. The most significant improvement is the addition of DJI’s in-house OcuSync 2.0 transmission system, which allows the drone to fly up to 10km away. The previous model’s “Enhanced WiFi” system had a range of only 4km. The new system also maintains a more stable video feed at greater distances.
In addition to the improved range, the Mini 2 SE can fly for 31 minutes on a single battery charge, an upgrade from the previous model’s maximum 30-minute flight time. The Mini 2 SE weighs less than 249 grams, making it exempt from FAA registration requirements, and comes with a three-axis gimbal and a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor that can capture 2.7K video and 12-megapixel stills.
The DJI Mini 2 SE will be available next month at a price of $369, or as part of a “Fly More Combo” bundle that includes additional batteries, replacement propellers, and a carrying case for $519.
