Comcast claims that 2-gig speeds are now available to’millions’ of customers

While fibre optic internet is supposed to provide symmetrical uploads and downloads, cable has fallen behind. However, with DOCSIS 4.0, a high-bandwidth internet standard that allows for up to 10Gbps downloads and 6Gbps uploads, providers such as Comcast may provide symmetrical cable connections. Comcast is gradually moving to the new standard and attained 4Gbps upload and download speeds during a January test.
