Microsoft is making its Bing AI available to a broader audience by expanding browser support to Google Chrome and Safari. However, the experience on third-party browsers may not be as robust as it is on Microsoft Edge.
According to a recent report by Windows Latest, there are some limitations to the Bing AI integration on Chrome and Safari. The character count for AI prompts has been reduced by half compared to Edge, allowing only 2,000 characters instead of 4,000. Additionally, conversations with the chatbot will be limited to five messages before resetting, while the normal experience allows for up to 30 messages. Bing will also encourage users to download Microsoft Edge on their Chromebook, though those who already have it will simply be prompted to launch the browser.
Microsoft is also introducing a new dark mode option for the chatbot, which will automatically match the system preferences but can be manually adjusted in the Settings menu.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Bing Chat on Safari will have the same limitations. Microsoft has not made an official announcement about the patch, and any potential tweaks or changes for Safari users have not been confirmed. The tech giant has not disclosed plans to expand Bing AI support to other browsers like Firefox, but it may be a possibility in the future.
In terms of future improvements, Microsoft seems keen on involving user feedback. According to another Windows Latest report, the company has been sending feedback forms to mobile users to gather insights on desired features. One potential upgrade could involve Bing recommending specific AI apps or tools to users. Moreover, Microsoft may be considering giving AI a more engaging experience by mimicking the personalities of famous individuals, such as billionaire Elon Musk.
While Bing AI is currently consistent across platforms, potential personality changes and feature enhancements may be on the horizon. As the AI continues to evolve, Microsoft is focused on providing users with a seamless and engaging experience. For now, users can explore the Bing AI on supported browsers and stay updated on any future developments.
