Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive a patch to fix some minor problems. The new Steam release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has rekindled interest in the game.
The most current chapter in Ubisoft’s long-running stealth game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, was published in 2020. However, the game was met with criticism upon its release, with many fans becoming bored of the RPG concept that had seen prior entries in the genre substantially expand in scope. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is already almost two years old, marked the longest gap between games in the franchise’s history. Many fans are hopeful that the hiatus has caused the franchise’s direction to be reconsidered, with many still discussing whether future Assassin’s Creed titles should include RPG aspects. At the present, the fan base is divided, making Ubisoft’s job difficult.
According to Ubisoft, the 1.7.0 update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be released on February 21 across all supported platforms. The change log is rather short, with primarily minor bug fixes and enhancements. Nevertheless, the update corrects certain issues with Ubisoft’s Helix Credits currency not displaying correctly, thus the update may have been required if it was effecting player purchases. The latest big update for the game was Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Final Chapter, which offered a satisfying conclusion to Eivor’s saga; nonetheless, response to this specific DLC was lacklustre at best. Despite the plethora of post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, much of it has gotten a similar response as The Final Chapter.
Many users may be surprised to learn that the game has received a fresh update. After numerous big DLC packs, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla just reached the end of its post-launch roadmap, with no further content planned for the title in the future. Ubisoft, on the other hand, plainly believes the update is essential enough to provide to gamers. The change report does not specify whether this is the final update for the game, so there may be more minor problem patches in the future.
Despite the current gap between games, fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise have a lot to look forward to. With the game’s return to stealthy gameplay and the announcement of several of the franchise’s upcoming titles, excitement for Assassin’s Creed Mirage continues to grow. Currently announced are Assassin’s Creed Red, Assassin’s Creed Jade, Assassin’s Creed Nexus, and Assassin’s Creed Hexe, each having its own distinct gameplay focus. While nothing is known about any of these projects, it is heartening for fans to know that Ubisoft is dedicated to the series’ long-term future.
