Assassin’s Creed Mirage Launching October 5th, 1 Week Ahead

Ubisoft is making a change to its fall game release schedule by moving up the launch date of Assassin’s Creed Mirage by one week. The game is now set to be released on October 5th, providing it with a bit more separation from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is scheduled for release on October 20th.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will now be launching in close proximity to another game, Detective Pikachu Returns, which is slated to debut on the Nintendo Switch on October 6th. This adjustment reflects Ubisoft’s strategic move to position its game within a competitive release window.

Unlike recent entries in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will have a smaller scope and will harken back to the franchise’s origins. It’s set two decades before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and primarily takes place in ninth-century Baghdad. The game emphasizes stealth and parkour, and the main character, Basim Ibn Ishaq, possesses the ability to slow down time to aid in planning assassinations. The inclusion of a full Arabic-language dub and subtitles aims to enhance the game’s immersion.

Ubisoft’s internal playtests have indicated that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take approximately 20-23 hours to beat and around 25-30 hours for full completion. This contrasts with the much longer playtimes required to fully complete recent entries like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Ubisoft has a busy few months ahead, with several other game releases on the horizon. The Crew Motorfest is set to launch on September 14th, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on December 7th, and other titles like XDefiant, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, and Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence are also scheduled for release by the end of the year. Amid these releases, Ubisoft continues its development on the long-anticipated game Skull and Bones.
