Assassin’s Creed Hexe Teaser Unearthed in Datamine – Hints at Future-Day Storylines

Cut Content from Assassin's Creed Mirage May Indicate Hexe's Modern-Day Integration

Recent datamining efforts have uncovered an intriguing development within the Assassin’s Creed gaming universe. An apparent teaser for “Assassin’s Creed Hexe” was extracted from files related to “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.” What’s especially fascinating is that the name of this recently discovered file implies that the cut content was originally intended to be a post-credits scene following the conclusion of “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.”

The Hexe Mystery Unveiled

Ubisoft announced “Assassin’s Creed Hexe” back in September 2022, accompanied by a brief video teaser that showcased the game’s logo and codename. Since that initial revelation, the gaming community has been left in the dark, eagerly speculating about what this new title might bring. Many believe it could be set in 16th-century Europe, during the notorious witch trials era.

However, dataminer Sliderv2 has now revealed an apparent Hexe teaser hidden within the depths of “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.” This 93-second clip presents a conversation between two Animus operators, apparently situated in the 22nd century or beyond. This assumption arises from one of the characters referring to the 21st century as “ancient history” during the conversation. The dialogue revolves around a genetic memory of one of the Isu, possibly a pivotal component of “Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s” narrative.

As the enigmatic conversation unfolds, the camera serenely traverses the Iraqi desert, eventually focusing on a solitary antenna protruding from the sand. Interestingly, the removal of this teaser from the latest Assassin’s Creed game appears to be a deliberate decision, rather than a last-minute change. The video itself exhibits rough edges, characterized by foliage pop-in and the occasional suspended rock formation. Notably, the file is aptly named “Post Credits_AC Neo Dialogue,” a clear reference to Neo, the original codename for “Assassin’s Creed Hexe” abandoned by Ubisoft during the game’s announcement in 2022.

Speculation and Possibilities

The decision to exclude this scene from the game raises various questions and speculations. Historically, post-credits scenes in the Assassin’s Creed series have hinted at forthcoming installments. Still, current beliefs point to “Assassin’s Creed Red” as the next entry, rumored to launch as early as late 2024, rather than Hexe. Another possibility is that Ubisoft opted not to incorporate modern-day segments in “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.”

Regardless of the reasons for its removal, the existence of this cut content suggests that Hexe may incorporate future-day storylines, whether they are playable or not. While “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” may not have significantly advanced the modern-day narrative of the series, Ubisoft appears to have multiple opportunities to do so in the future, with several confirmed new installments currently in development.
