Sometime after the events of Pokemon Journeys, in Pokemon: Aim to Be a Pokemon Master, Ash is shown wandering aimlessly over the globe without any particular purpose. As Professor Oak points out, it’s often ideal to travel without a huge goal in mind since that’s what’s required the most. That is especially true for Ash today, since after being the global champion, what more does he need to accomplish to become a great Pokemon Master?
