Apple is advancing its efforts to create a tabletop robotic device, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
This new device is expected to feature a large display similar to an iPad, mounted on a slim robotic arm that enables the screen to tilt, rotate 360º, and serve multiple functions. It would act as a smart home hub, a videoconferencing tool for services like FaceTime, and a home security monitor.
The device will integrate Siri and Apple Intelligence, allowing it to respond to voice commands, recognize different users, and automatically adjust the display to face people in the room.
Although Apple has considered this concept for a while, development has recently gained momentum under Kevin Lynch, Apple’s vice president of technology, who has led projects like the Apple Watch. Apple is targeting a release as early as 2026 or 2027, with an expected price around $1,000, though these plans may evolve during development.
