Apple Arcade to Add Stardew Valley, Slay the Spire, and Ridiculous Fishing in July

Apple Arcade subscribers are in for a treat this July as Apple unveils an exciting lineup of games coming to its gaming subscription service. The roster includes beloved indies such as Stardew Valley, Slay the Spire, and Ridiculous Fishing, promising a diverse and engaging gaming experience for subscribers.

Of particular interest is Ridiculous Fishing EX, described by Apple as a “full and expanded remaster” of the original game that won an Apple Design Award. The new version features a 3D environment where players employ unconventional fishing gear like chainsaws and toasters to reel in fish in an open sea. The remastered edition introduces a competitive mode with regularly updated challenges and leaderboards, as well as a new game plus mode. It’s worth noting that the original studio behind Ridiculous Fishing, Vlambeer, shut down three years ago, but the team reconvened temporarily to bring this new iteration to life. Rami Ismail, co-founder of Vlambeer, expressed his excitement on Twitter, stating that it was a joy to revisit the game that launched his career alongside the original crew. The collaboration also involved KO_OP, the developer of Goodbye Volcano High. Ridiculous Fishing EX will be available on Apple Arcade starting from July 14th.
