Amazon stated in a blog post that iOS users may now digitally try on shoes. Customers in the United States and Canada can try on shoes from companies such as New Balance, Adidas, and Reebok.
Customers can simply point their camera at their feet and click through a variety of shoes to see how they look from various angles in this virtual try-on. The instrument, however, cannot be used to determine shoe size. While the new function is currently only available to iOS users with an iPhone 7 or later, Amazon announced in a blog post that it will be available to Android consumers shortly.
Amazon introduced an in-app augmented reality function in 2017 that allowed consumers to see how a piece of furniture would look in their home. Consumers could try on makeup in the app thanks to a relationship with L’Oréal, as well as an AR feature related to its brick-and-mortar Amazon Salon that lets customers preview how hairstyles and hair colors appear on them before scissors, clippers, and curlers went to work. Some spectacles and Made for You custom-fit T-shirts are also available for try-on through Amazon’s app.
Customers in the United States and Canada can test the virtual shoe try-on by scanning the QR code on Amazon’s website or searching for the term “Virtual Try-On” within the Amazon iOS app.
