With the Ascend P7, Huawei is stepping their foot in the high-end smartphones market to compete with the established brands like Apple, Samsung, HTC and Sony who have been the pioneers in high-end smartphone industry in the past decade.
Let me give you a tech specs review about the Huawei Ascend P7.
Design, Look and Feel
Although it looks quite simple when it comes to the look and design, the Huawei Ascend P7 is lighter, thinner, faster and a better device in the high-end smartphone segment. No doubt, the Ascend P7 is one of the best looking and best-feeling Android phones in the market today. The device feels good in hands because of its smooth texture at the rear but at the same time it gets slippery which increases the chances of dropping the device every now and then if not held properly.

Display and Features
The Huawei Ascend P7 features a 5-Inch touchscreen display offering a full HD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. The colors are bright and the text looks sharp when tested at different viewing angels. The front of the device is covered with a thin glass layer from edge to edge protecting the display altogether from any kind of breakage or cracks when it’s dropped accidentally.
Ascend P7 is powered by the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system alongside Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.3. Still, the better this device impresses us with its design looks and display, the more it disappoints with some of its features. There are some cool additional features such as Ultra Snapshot, Dual Antenna and Task Manager prompts to save battery. However these features are cool but they don’t live up to its potential boasted at the launch event. The Ultra Snapshot helps you taking a quick snap but tampers with the quality and resolution it boasted about a lot, while in spite of the dual antenna feature, the phone’s reception was often low at times which was again a kind of disappointment. Although the feature is intended to save battery life by prompting the user via Task Manager to close the apps or processes that consumed battery unnecessarily, it often interrupted major apps running in the background giving bad user experience at some points.
Camera and Internal Storage
Huawei has in fact done a fantastic job offering an 8MP front-facing camera on Ascend P7 which it claims is intended to take the “selfie” trend to a new level. It also offers a 13MP rear camera that’s powered by Sony and uses the similar camera features found on one of the best cameraphones on the market such as Sony Xperia Z2. The camera options are displayed in a similar overlay system for its menu as found on the Xperia Z2 yet with minimal features and fewer comedy options and modes when compared with its Sony counterpart.

Huawei Ascend P7 features 16GB internal memory storage alongside a 2GB RAM to support faster processing and functioning. You can also expand the memory up to 64GB using an external microSD memory card.
Processor and Battery
Huawei Ascend P7 is equipped with Cortex-A9 HiSilicon Krin 910T chipset that clocks at 1.8 GHz that promises smooth functionality of the device and its apps. Being a quad-core processor, the device speeds up all the different processes making it suitable for multi-tasking and assures smooth functionality of different high end apps and heavy games.
