Jamo Returns With HYG, a Trio of ‘Hygge’-Inspired Wireless Speakers

Jamo, the heritage Danish loudspeaker brand, has unveiled HYG, a three-model range of wireless speakers that pushes the company further into portable and multi-room audio. Named after the Scandinavian concept of hygge — a sense of warmth, comfort and connection — the series spans a room-filling home speaker, a rugged portable and a bedside unit, and is due to launch globally in July 2026.

Leading the range is the HYG Flex, pitched at listeners who want larger, room-filling sound. Wrapped in soft fabric with a cylindrical shape, it pairs dual angled tweeters with a dedicated 5-inch woofer, and includes a built-in ambient base light. Jamo says it carries Auracast, the Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast feature that lets multiple compatible speakers link for multi-room playback or stereo pairing. It is listed at a suggested price of $279 (£239).

The HYG Flow is the line-up’s portable option, built for the outdoors and travel. Rated IPX7 for water resistance, it features a braided carry handle and a nano-coated, water-resistant fabric, with dual full-range drivers and passive radiators that Jamo says are tuned for vocal clarity. The company quotes up to 27 hours of playback and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity with Auracast support. It is the most affordable model at $129 (£109) and comes in six colours, including Sand Dune, Red Oxide and Sage Green.

Rounding out the trio, the HYG Reflect is a bedside speaker that combines warm ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and audio the company says adjusts to the speaker’s position relative to the listener. It also bundles curated ambient soundscapes inspired by Scandinavian nature, along with integrated alarm and sleep-timer functions, and uses passive-radiator technology for low-end output from a compact body. It is priced at $149 (£129).

The HYG series leans heavily on Auracast, a relatively new capability within Bluetooth LE Audio that allows one source to broadcast to many receivers. For Jamo, it is the connective tissue that turns three standalone products into a loosely linked system spanning the living room, the bedroom and outdoor spaces.

The launch marks a notable step in the revival of Jamo, a loudspeaker brand with decades of history in home hi-fi that is now repositioning around lifestyle-oriented wireless audio. The range was shown to media at the High End show in Vienna, and Jamo says all three models will go on sale worldwide in July 2026. Prices listed are manufacturer suggested retail prices and may vary by market.

The HYG range enters a crowded premium wireless-speaker market, where established names compete on design, battery life and increasingly on multi-speaker features. Jamo’s wager is that a clear Scandinavian design language — and the comfort-driven hygge framing — will help its return stand out on a shelf already full of capable rivals.
