Oura has unveiled the Oura Ring 5, claiming the title of the world’s smallest smart ring — a 40% reduction in size over the Oura Ring 4 that the company says comes with no compromise on health tracking or battery life.
The numbers tell the story: Ring 5 measures just 6.09 mm wide and 2.28 mm thick, and weighs between 2 and 2.69 grams depending on size — down from the 3.3 to 5.2 grams of its predecessor. Despite the dramatic slimming, Oura says members can still expect up to a week of battery life on a single charge.
Crafted from lightweight, non-allergenic titanium, the ring builds on more than twelve years of the Finnish company’s sensor development. Oura positions Ring 5 as its most advanced health-sensing platform yet, tracking sleep, readiness, heart rate, and activity while feeding the company’s increasingly AI-driven insights engine.
The launch matters beyond Oura’s own catalog. Smart rings have become the fastest-moving corner of the wearables market, with Samsung’s Galaxy Ring and a wave of challengers betting that users want screenless, always-on health tracking. By shrinking the hardware to near-jewelry proportions while holding the line on endurance, Oura is defending its category lead on the dimension competitors find hardest to match: miniaturization.
Oura Ring 5 is available for pre-order globally, with shipping underway since June 4. Pricing starts at $399 for the Silver and Black base finishes, rising to $499 for the premium Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose options.
For existing members, the company says the full Oura experience — including its subscription-based insights — carries over seamlessly to the new hardware.
