Liam Lawson’s future on the Formula 1 grid remains uncertain as he seeks to secure his seat for next year, with competition heating up at Racing Bulls. After being moved back to the junior squad following a tough start with Red Bull, Lawson has shown resilience—scoring points in half of his last eight races and leaning on his growing experience at upcoming circuits.
Lawson told media that revisiting tracks he knows well gives him extra confidence during a critical stretch: “It’s tracks that I enjoy, tracks that I look forward to going to. At the same time, I have to try and treat every weekend the same… But I’ll enjoy it, especially the first few laps in practice and going into qualifying, when the car is hooked up and you feel good. That’s what we’re trying to achieve this weekend.”
His prior F1 mileage—including last year’s late-season opportunity replacing Daniel Ricciardo—means Lawson approaches the U.S. Grand Prix and other familiar circuits with fresh determination. However, with multiple drivers in contention for Racing Bulls’ 2026 lineup, every session and result remains crucial.
Lawson commented on the unique pressure of the Red Bull driver development program: “Honestly, it’s all I know. It’s hard for me to say whether it would be easier in a different team. Red Bull is very unique in the way the programme has been, but it’s all I know.”
Ultimately, Lawson’s aim is to maximize his advantage at these familiar venues, hoping consistent performances will help him claim a seat amid fierce competition for next year.
