iPhone fold concept

We could finally see a foldable iPhone device next year

We are seeing all major smartphone brands either working on a foldable device or releasing newer iterations of their existing foldable smartphones, but Apple has been silent so far, giving us only minor iterative upgrades on their existing iPhone lineup. Apple and non Apple users have been asking the question – When will we see a foldable iPhone?

Looks like we are now finally going to get the answer to this question, as there have been some leaks doing the rounds on the internet of a potential foldable iPhone device in the works. While Apple hasn’t confirmed any details yet, the latest rumors suggest a 2026 launch with a starting price of around $2,300, nearly double the cost of the current iPhone 16 Pro Max.

According to Jeff Pu, an analyst at GF Securities (via 9to5Mac), Apple’s foldable iPhone is likely to hit the market in 2026. That’s in line with previous predictions from other sources, effectively ruling out a 2024 or 2025 release. Meanwhile, Barclays analyst Tim Long (via MacRumors) estimates the device could cost more than $2,300, depending on the storage configuration.

Now, as always, we will take these leaks with a pinch of salt as the company itself has not stated or given any concrete statement on their intention to release a foldable device, but personally, I think the day is not far where we see a “One more thing” announcement featuring a highly refined foldable iPhone. Apple is known to take its time with new offerings like this, and with the recent lukewarm reception of their Vision Pro headset, they will definitely be a little defensive about rushing out a half baked product at a premium.
