How to screen record in Windows 11

If you are someone who is into game streaming, or online teaching, you may want to know how to screen record in your Windows 11 machine. Few years ago, you would need some third party software to properly record the screen on your Windows machine, but now, thanks to advancements and upgrades within the Windows 11 platform, it is very easy to record your screen, and in this, we will show you how to get it done in a few simple steps.

Note – This tutorial is for machines running Windows 11 only. It is a good practise to ensure that you have updated the OS to the latest build in order to ensure everything is working in order.

With that out of the way, let’s begin –

To record Gaming Stream

Step 1. On your Windows 11 device keyboard, simply click on the ‘Windows Key + G‘ keys together.

Step 2. This will open the Windows Game bar. Here you will have a multitude of controls that you can use, but for this tutorial, we want to record the screen.

 

 

Step 3. Here, click on the ‘Record button’, and in a few seconds the screen recording will begin.

 

 

To record your screen in general

The method above will not work for general screen recording. For such purposes, follow the steps below –

Step 1. On your Windows 11 keyboard, click on the ‘Windows key + SHIFT + S’ keys together.

Step 2. You will see the snapshot tool open up, and by default, it is in screenshot mode.

Step 3. Click on the toggle to switch to the video recording mode.

Step 4. Now, drag on the screen with your left mouse button clicked, and select the area that you want to record.

 

 

Step 5. Once you are happy with the selection, simply click on the ‘Record’ button and you are good to go.
