IBM has launched its new Watsonx AI platform for enterprises, featuring three products to facilitate AI integration into organizational workflows.
- Watsonx.ai Studio: This product offers new generative AI models that businesses can deploy for various use cases or develop their own models. It supports Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks like answering questions, generating content, and summarizing text.
- Watsonx.data: This tool enables data storage and access related to AI workloads through a single entry point. Non-technical personnel can use natural language to interact with and visualize data, making it more accessible through a self-service portal. Watsonx.data also assists with security, compliance processes, and centralized governance.
- Watsonx.governance: This tool, expected to be available later this year, focuses on ensuring the responsibility, transparency, and explainability of AI workflows built with the Watsonx platform.
IBM has already collaborated with over 150 organizations during beta and preview phases, shaping the Watsonx platform based on their feedback.
IBM’s plans for Watsonx include working with NASA to build a foundation model for analyzing geospatial data and using the platform to produce commentary for the Wimbledon Championships.
The company aims to expand Watsonx’s applications further and plans to release more foundational models in future releases. Additionally, IBM will offer a full stack high-performance, flexible, AI-optimized infrastructure on IBM Cloud for training and serving foundation models.
IBM’s future developments for Watsonx include getting 100B+ parameter models for tailored use cases and keeping pace with evolving AI regulations to help organizations implement end-to-end lifecycle governance, mitigate risks, and manage compliance.
