Avalanche has solved an animation bug that has been plaguing Hogwarts Legacy users since the game’s release, and female character faces are now correctly visible outside of cutscenes in regular gameplay. Despite the Hogwarts Legacy character generator isn’t very complex at first sight, it’s surprisingly substantial and enables fans to design their own Witch or Wizard to go on an immersive journey based in the Wizarding World. Avalanche’s open-world game allows players to tailor their experience in a variety of ways, including picking their broom, acquiring their wand at Ollivanders, and even being sorted into a Hogwarts house.
There was, however, a visual problem that irritated the game’s community for the previous month or so. While the protagonist was not performing a spell like Lumos, a unique issue with the female character model in Hogwarts Legacy caused her face to morph in an unusual way. To put it frankly, the face as shown in regular gameplay did not match the face chosen by players during character creation or the face seen in cutscenes, and for many fans, this was an immersion-breaking experience.

Hogwarts Legacy’s latest patch has thankfully provided a long list of patches for all the flaws and errors that players have reported over the previous month, and one of these recorded modifications finally fixes the female protagonist’s face to match the model seen in character creation, cutscenes, and the game’s equipment page. Considering that the community has already created a rudimentary picture mode for Hogwarts Legacy, this move will undoubtedly be appreciated by players who wish to capture a dazzling snapshot of their Witch in one of the game’s stunning settings.
According to Ungreth on the game’s official subreddit, Hogwarts Legacy players have rushed to social media – whether it Twitter or Reddit – to discuss the changes introduced by the latest patch. Whilst the adjustments are slight, and the flat lighting in standard Hogwarts Legacy gameplay has a lot to be desired, the facial features are now where they should be.
Avalanche has obviously been preoccupied with preparing Hogwarts Legacy for release on the previous generation of consoles, as well as its Switch version. Despite the producers have remained tight-lipped about future material, with no formal plans for DLC in Hogwarts Legacy, it is virtually universally assumed that Warner Bros. Avalanche Interactive will be able to give narrative and gameplay updates as soon as the game debuts on any of its previously stated platforms.
