Individual profiles for Google TV have finally arrived after a few months of delay

After months of delays, Google is finally releasing personalized profiles for Google TV “in the coming weeks.”

Google TV profiles, which were announced in October, would make it easier for multi-watcher households to discover content by providing access to personalized suggestions, watchlists, and Google Assistant responses.

Google has been extending Google TV to make it less of a one-stop-shop for family members who prefer diverse types of content. Google TV debuted kids’ profiles last year, allowing parents to choose which applications are available and set watch time limitations. The company started rolling out an ambient mode screensaver with personalized cards that will show things like weather, sports scores, and podcast links earlier this month.

Installed apps are ready for streaming across all profiles (excluding children’s profiles), and login information is saved for households that share accounts across streaming services.

According to Google, the profiles will be available “in the coming weeks.” After your device has been upgraded, follow these steps to configure your profile.

Scroll to your profile image or initial from the Google TV home screen’s top right.

Add an account after selecting your name.

Select Create a new account.

Log in to the Google Account that you want to add.

To finish the profile setup, simply follow the prompts.

Choose the streaming services that will be used with this profile.
