If you have played or are thinking of playing any of the game styles listed above, then see the list we have compiled below of the top smartphone devices for gamers. We have also included the recommended retail price as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each of the mobile phones in order to help you find the best smartphone for mobile gaming.

1.   Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a state-of-the-art phone for mobile gamers who love to play on a big screen. One of the first of its kind, The Galaxy Z offers its user the opportunity to completely unpack, giving a much larger screen then any of its predecessors or competitors. As well as the excellent screen, the Galaxy Z is also an extremely powerful device, able to run all games built for mobile phones.

This is probably our number one choice. However, it is one of the most expensive phones on the market at time of writing, which is a downside.

Positive Features:

  • State of the art screen design and graphics.
  • Powerful processor which is able to run all mobile games.
  • Lightweight and water resistant.

Negative Features:

  • Costly – $1,500+.

2.   Apple iPhone 14

The newest Apple device currently on the market, the iPhone 14 offers an excellent interface and remains one of the top choices for mobile gamers. Apple has been producing excellent devices for well over a decade now and the iPhone 14 is very good. Despite this, if you already have a newish Apple device, we suggest refraining from updating your model, as there has not been a great deal of change over the past three years of iPhone models.

With that being said, the iPhone still offers the best all-round product, in our opinion, and will run pretty much all mobile games with ease.

Positive Features:

  • Safe choice of phone.
  • Great camera and screen graphics.
  • Cheaper than the newest Samsung models.

Negative Features:

  • Not too many improvements from the previous model

3.   Google Pixel 7 Pro

Gamers can purchase the brand-new Google Pixel 7 Pro for less than $1,000, which makes it cheaper than both Apple and Samsung devices. Google is doing its best to catch up with Apple and Samsung when it comes to smartphones and we feel that the Pixel 7 pro offers good value for money.

The pro triple rear camera ensures that the Pixel 7 Pro offers the best camera out of all of the phones on this list. However, we do not think it offers better performance when it comes to mobile gaming. With that being said, it will still run almost all mobile games, however, the screen is smaller than both the Samsung Z Fold and the iPhone 14, which is a drawback.

Positive Features:

  • Great value for money.
  • Excellent camera.
  • Good all-round phone for gamers.

Negative Features:

  • Smaller screen compared to its competitors.

4.   Realme GT 2

Certainly, the Realme GT 2 is the best budget option on our list. The other phones offer more power but from a price perspective, this phone allows you to play online mobile games at a fraction of the price of the rest of the phones on our list.

Of course, where specs are concerned, the Realme GT 2 does not compete with the others, but if your desire is only to game, then we can recommend this one. The Realme GT 2 is available for under $600.

Positive Features:

  • Offers all online mobile gaming needs.

Negative Features:

  • Average specs compared to competitors.

5.   OnePlus 10 Pro

Our second budget option for mobile gamers, the OnePlus 10 Pro can be purchased for around $40 monthly fee. This is probably the best Android choice if you do not want to purchase a Samsung due to its great looking screen and very fast battery charging. The life span of the battery is average though.

In terms of its gaming ability, the OnePlus 10 Pro works very well and is one of the top 5 performing mobile phones for gaming online.

Positive Features:

  • Best Android device behind the Samsung phones.
  • Quick battery charging.

Negative Features:

  • Average battery span.
  • Lower specs compared to Samsung and iPhones.

Mobile Gaming is the Future

As we head into 2023, we suspect that mobile technology will continue to improve at an incredibly fast rate. Due to this, expect the trend of the world population playing mobile games to increase too. Compared to consoles and computers, mobile phone devices are cheap, and the majority of the world population (over 83% of the world population own a smartphone) own a mobile phone of some sort, so it is no surprise that the number of mobile gamers continues to increase year after year.
