When the Jaguar F-Type made its debut in 2013, little did enthusiasts know that it would mark the end of an era for Jaguar’s sports cars with internal combustion engines. However, the final curtain call has arrived, and it’s a grand one. Say hello to the 2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition, a spectacular tribute featuring a supercharged V8 under the hood, bidding farewell to the combustion engine era just before the electric revolution takes center stage.
This exclusive edition, available for the coupe or convertible, is not just about power but also a celebration of Jaguar’s iconic sports car heritage. The Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition is a limited-production model, and for this special offering, Jaguar has turned to its SV Bespoke group to enhance both its exterior and interior.
The transformation begins on the outside, with the option to choose from two distinct color palettes, inspired by the classic E-Type: Oulton Blue Gloss or Crystal Grey Gloss. Opt for the blue, and you’ll be greeted by a two-tone interior in striking red and black. Meanwhile, the gray variant comes with a sophisticated blue and black combination. These color choices are a first for the F-Type, adding a unique touch to this final chapter.
Eager to pay homage to its racing history, the F-Type ZP Edition features hand-painted roundels on the doors in bright white, a nod to the E-Type race cars that roared shortly after the model’s 1961 launch. The white theme continues with grille surrounds, complemented by striking 20-inch wheels with black inserts. Inside, black trim accents create a sporty ambiance, and special badging proudly identifies the F-Type ZP Edition on the fenders, door sills, and dashboard. A unique plaque displays the production number, ranging from 1 to 150, highlighting the exclusivity of this limited run. Yes, only 150 fortunate enthusiasts will have the opportunity to own one.
Beneath the captivating aesthetics, the F-Type ZP Edition shares the same mechanical prowess as the F-Type R in P575 trim. The beating heart of this masterpiece is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, generating an exhilarating 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, propelling the F-Type R from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds.
Jaguar’s Managing Director Rawdon Glover commented, “F-Type has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-type did five decades before it. The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions, including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.”
It’s important to note that starting in 2025, Jaguar is steadfast in its commitment to launch only electric vehicles. As for this final ode to the F-Type, pricing details and the breakdown of coupe versus convertible variants are yet to be revealed. For reference, the standard 2024 F-Type R P575 begins at $114,275, inclusive of a $1,275 destination fee.
