World of Warcraft is set to expand its cosmetic options for players with the Engineering profession in Patch 10.1.7, titled “Fury Incarnate.” This new update will introduce a series of achievements that unlock customizable goggles for all classes, allowing players to transmog various shades of iconic Engineering goggles regardless of their character’s armor type.
Patch 10.1.7, known as “Fury Incarnate,” is currently in development and promises to bring a range of exciting additions to the World of Warcraft universe. Alongside these new Engineering-focused achievements, players can look forward to Heritage Armor questlines, quality-of-life improvements, and enhanced customization options.
The upcoming update will reward Engineering enthusiasts with five new achievements collectively referred to as “Chromatic Calibration.” These achievements will enable players to craft different types of goggles, each associated with a specific color palette. The noteworthy aspect of these achievements is that they grant players the ability to use any color variation of the goggles on characters of any class, irrespective of their armor type.
The five types of goggles that players can unlock through the Chromatic Calibration achievements in World of Warcraft Patch 10.1.7 are as follows:
- Bio-Optic Killshades: This category comprises seven goggles in four different colors.
- Retinal Armor: Players will have access to seven items in six distinct colors.
- Cranial Cannon: This category offers 12 entries available in four different shades.
- Ectoplasmic Specs: With only four goggles required for the unlock, these come in four different colors.
- Holo-Gogs: This category boasts a total of 34 items required for the achievement, with 11 unique colors available.
It’s important to note that these achievements and associated items are currently in the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm (PTR), and there may be potential changes before the patch goes live. Some key details, such as whether players will need to have Engineering as a profession to transmog these items or if they will be universally usable, remain uncertain. Additionally, it’s unclear whether players will receive credit towards earning these achievements if they have previously crafted these items or if they will need to re-craft them after Patch 10.1.7 is released.
This unexpected addition of a new cosmetic item and goals for Engineers has generated excitement among World of Warcraft fans. Goggles have always been highly sought-after items in the game, and the armor and Engineering profession requirements have historically posed challenges for players looking to create unique transmogs with these high-tech accessories. While the achievements required to unlock these cosmetic options won’t be easy, given the rarity of some recipes, they will undoubtedly provide players with the freedom to create Splinter Cell or Cyberpunk 2077-inspired transmogs for their World of Warcraft characters once unlocked.
