Witcher star Henry Cavill Reveals Which Video Game He Is Currently Obsessed With

In a recent interview, Henry Cavill, who is the main star in the Netflix Witcher series, stated that he has been spending a lot of time playing the strategy game Total War: Warhammer 3. Cavill is well-known for his roles as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher TV series and Superman in the DC cinematic world, but he is also a noted gamer, frequently chatting about and showing off his passions online. Cavill recently went popular after posting a video of himself updating his gaming PC.

Aside from video games in general, Henry Cavill is a major lover of the Warhammer 40K tabletop game. He has been on talk shows to talk about his passion and how he likes every aspect of it, from model making to painting to finally playing. Earlier this year, The Witcher star visited the UK Warhammer headquarters, where he was given a tour of the firm that created his long-time passion.

It’s hardly surprising, however, that Henry Cavill has declared that his current favorite game is Total War: Warhammer 3. Cavill revealed his latest gaming habits with Happy Sad Confused podcaster Josh Horowitz, saying that he “loves” Total War: Warhammer 3, the last installment in the Warhammer Fantasy trilogy. Cavill also claims to have played “a decent amount” of the game, only to correct himself and explain he truly meant “a lot” of time on it.

Given that Cavill has already mentioned that he appreciates the Total War series in general, it stands to reason that he would enjoy the merger of two of his favorite franchises in the Total War: Warhammer games. Previously, Henry Cavill was included in Total War: Warhammer 2 as an Easter egg, contributing his voice to the character of a certain High Elf Loremaster. Cavill does not appear in the third game, but since the Immortal Empires upgrade brought the High Elves to Total War: Warhammer 3, enthusiasts may still include him in their armies.

Cavill later mentioned his love of World of Warcraft, claiming that Blizzard gifted him a “huge statue of the Lich King.” The Witcher star has been playing World of Warcraft for a long time, and he even missed the phone call informing him that he’d gotten the Superman part because of it. Fortunately for Cavill, he completed the raid and became the Man of Steel, a position he hopes to reprise after a period of uncertainty. For a long, it didn’t appear like Cavill would reprise his role as Superman, but an end credits sequence in Black Adam and new Instagram posts have indicated that he will don the cape once more.
