During the driver press conference ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen emphasized that his focus remains on the long championship battle and maintaining consistency throughout the season. He acknowledged the unpredictable nature of Monaco and emphasized the need to minimize mistakes in a closely contested championship.
Verstappen stated, “From my point of view, it doesn’t really change anything. I know that it’s a very long championship. You need to be very consistent. You can barely afford mistakes, especially when it’s only one team, one opponent because at the moment looks like best case you win, worst case you’re second, so you can’t really lose too many points like that.”
