Delayd seasons are nothing new to gamers, but The Division 2 participants are in an especially unpleasant predicament. Ubisoft has acknowledged that a “development issue” has crippled the shared-world shooter’s build generation system, preventing the studio from updating the game. The team is unable to not only launch the new season that was postponed last week, but also to extend the current one until the build functionality is repaired.

Ubisoft claims to have made “excellent progress” in resolving the issue in recent days, and there are clues that a solution is on the way. As we write this, the corporation is in the midst of a three-hour “unscheduled maintenance” session, and it’s utilising the downtime to solve issues like as the inability to make seasonal in-game purchases. If there are no issues, the servers should be back online approximately 1PM Eastern.
This issue’s timing is extremely unfortunate. Ubisoft recently cancelled three titles due to declining income, and employees at its Paris office went on strike last month to protest what they claim are unjust working conditions. Things aren’t going well at the publisher, and it may be a long before things settle down.
