TPM Troubles: Microsoft’s Plans for Windows 11 Supremacy Hindered by Hardware Incompatibility

The Recent Steam Survey Reveals Drop in Windows 11 Adoption Among Gamers, but There’s More to the Story than Meets the Eye

The latest Steam hardware survey has raised eyebrows with a significant drop in Windows 11 adoption among gamers. According to Valve’s survey for March, Windows 11 has fallen 9.65% for operating system share among Steam gamers, leaving it at 22.41%, while Windows 10 is up 11.62%. However, further examination of the survey data reveals that the jump in “Simplified Chinese” language installations represents 51.63% of the PCs surveyed in March, up 25.35% from the previous month, whereas “English” language installations have dropped to 22.83%, down 12.44%. This suggests that Windows 11 may not be abandoned by gamers, but that the geographical focus of the survey is playing a significant role in the data shift. While it’s possible that the survey is flawed, it’s worth noting that other evidence shows a shift in macOS and Linux, particularly Apple’s desktop platform which has dropped heavily.
