Picture fitting a full gaming PC into a suitcase – not just any basic computer, but one that can handle a beefy graphics card and serious cooling. That’s what caught my eye about Thermaltake’s new TR100 case at CES 2025.
This isn’t your standard PC case story. At 18.9 liters, the TR100 is small enough to fit in a special travel case but still takes full-size gaming hardware. You can pack a graphics card up to 360mm long – that covers most high-end cards on the market.
The color options are refreshing too. Beyond basic black and white, they’ve got Matcha Green, Hydrangea Blue, Bubble Pink, and Mint Strawberry. These aren’t just pretty colors – they’re making a statement that gaming PCs don’t need to look boring.
Let’s talk practical features. The case has magnetic side panels (no more struggling with thumbscrews), and spring-loaded screws that make building easier. For cooling, you can fit a 280mm radiator or two 120/140mm fans. That’s serious cooling potential in a travel-size package.
They’ve included modern connections up front – two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C, and audio jacks. There’s also an optional 3.9-inch LCD screen you can add to monitor your system stats, priced at $79.99.
The base case costs $119.99, which seems reasonable given its features. The travel suite case price isn’t announced yet, but it looks well-thought-out, with space for a VR headset, portable monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
Kenny Lin, Thermaltake’s CEO, frames this as a solution for digital nomads and esports players. I can see the appeal – imagine bringing your full gaming setup to a friend’s house or tournament without lugging multiple bags.
If you’re at CES, you can check out the TR100 at Thermaltake’s booth in The Venetian until January 9th. For everyone else, these cases hit stores in early 2025. Just remember, while the case is compact, you’ll still need to choose your components carefully to make everything fit.
