The Optiq is Cadillac’s smallest EV

Cadillac is keeping the electric SUV game strong with a new addition – say hello to the Cadillac Optiq. Yep, they’re sticking to that quirky “iq” naming vibe. This one’s the smallest in Cadillac’s electric family, serving as the gateway to their EV lineup.

Picture this – the Optiq borrows some style tips from its electric siblings, the Lyriq and the Celestiq. You’ve got those cool waterfall lights up front and those slick split taillights in the back. Looks like Cadillac’s keeping it in the family when it comes to the electric visual game.

Now, the deets are a bit scarce, but here’s where it gets interesting. The Optiq is riding on GM’s Ultium battery platform, so we can expect some similarities with GM’s other electric SUVs, like the Chevrolet Equinox EV. Think similar performance, range, and charging vibes.

Speaking of size, the Optiq is likely to be in the neighborhood of the Equinox EV, which has a wheelbase of 116.3 inches and a total length of 190.4 inches. So, not just an electric XT4, my friend.

As for the nitty-gritty specs, we’re playing the waiting game until next year. But if the Equinox EV is any hint, we’re looking at up to 300 miles of range, with options for both front- and all-wheel drive. And depending on your mood, you can choose between 210 horsepower or crank it up to 290 hp.
