The remake was first confirmed by EA in July, although no date was given at the time. It did reveal, though, that the game would be “rebuilt from the bottom up” and created by Motive, which is perhaps best known for its work on Star Wars: Squadrons. In a live stream last year, Motive revealed a few more facts, including the fact that actor Gunner Wright will reprise his role as protagonist Isaac Clarke (despite the fact that Clarke was a silent protagonist in the first game) and that there will be no microtransactions.
