The year is swiftly coming to a conclusion, but there are still a few big games coming out, like The Callisto Protocol. The game isn’t due out until December, but it appears director Glen Schofield is already planning ahead. Schofield announced in a new interview with Inverse that he intends to develop a sequel to The Callisto Protocol. Schofield hinted that he had lots of ideas for a sequel, but he didn’t go into specifics about where the horror franchise would go next.
Of course, whether there will be a desire for a sequel remains to be seen! So far, The Callisto Protocol previews are promising, but many fans will likely wait to see if Schofield and Striking Distance Studios can nail the landing. Schofield is the original Dead Space creator and executive producer, and The Callisto Protocol appears to be a spiritual successor to the franchise. Dead Space has a devoted following, and it’s likely that many of them are eager to see if The Callisto Protocol will live up to the game’s heritage.
The deep space setting of the Callisto Protocol might give lots of fuel for future games! Striking Distance Studios might bring a plethora of new planets and settings to explore, as well as new animals to meet. Fans will have to wait and watch how the first game goes since Schofield is presently keeping his ideas under wraps. They won’t have to wait long, since The Callisto Protocol will be released on December 2nd for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
