If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II crashed when you were playing with a group of pals, you should download the game’s current update as soon as possible. In a tweet seen by Eurogamer, developer Infinity Ward stated that it was “aware of certain players encountering crashes while partying up” early Friday morning. Later that day, the studio announced a “mitigation” plan for Saturday AM. That update is currently live and going out to Modern Warfare II gamers as of 12:22 PM ET. “Party players should notice a considerable improvement,” Infinity Ward added.
Thank you for your patience. We will be deploying a mitigation for party related crashes tomorrow morning (PDT). Update to follow. https://t.co/w9ab6BGk8h

The update comes as the company works to remedy a number of launch difficulties with Modern Warfare II. One problem, for example, prevents players from reaching the game’s menu while in the middle of a match. Another bug, which Infinity Ward has subsequently resolved, caused an audio continuity issue on PlayStation 4. The company was also compelled to disable Modern Warfare II’s ping mechanism after it was discovered that it could be used to monitor a single enemy player for the entirety of a game.
