Tesla receives approval for a Gigafactory in Germany, but there are still restrictions to be met

On Friday, municipal officials gave their clearance to Tesla’s Gigafactory in Germany, but the business must still meet a number of conditions before the plant can begin producing automobiles.

Environmental groups in the area have protested the factory’s water use and potential harm to wildlife, which has caused the factory’s construction to be postponed multiple times. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has stated that the Gigafactory will use “very little” water and that the forest that was removed prior to the plant’s construction was “not a natural forest” because it was only cultivated to create cardboard.

Tesla’s European gigafactory, which Musk has dubbed a “machine that creates the machine,” will be built in Germany, Musk initially revealed in 2019. According to the corporation, the plant in Germany would be able to produce up to 500,000 automobiles per year and will employ 12,000 people.

According to recent sources, the plant is currently building car prototypes, although it is unclear when it will start producing electric vehicles.
