Starfield Controller Images Tease the Game’s Unique Sci-Fi Design

In an exciting development for fans eagerly anticipating the launch of Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield on September 6, a limited edition Xbox Wireless Controller is rumored to be released alongside the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG. Images of the gamepad’s box were shared on the Starfield subreddit by a now-deleted Reddit user, suggesting the existence of a special edition controller for the game.

Around the same time, video footage surfaced on Twitter showcasing the Xbox Series X|S controller outside of its packaging. The video also revealed a Starfield-themed Xbox Wireless Headset, indicating that Microsoft is embracing limited edition peripherals to enhance the Starfield gaming experience.

The design of the limited edition controller features a matte white shell with red and gray accents on the rear and analog sticks. The gold-colored D-pad and triggers add a touch of elegance. However, some may find the front of the controller, with its random lines and scribbles, to be overly designed.

Considering that Starfield will be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost, it makes sense for Microsoft to explore other avenues of revenue, such as special editions and future paid DLC. Limited edition hardware, like the rumored controller and headset, cater to the dedicated fans of the game. Similar limited edition Xbox controllers have been released in the past for games like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5.

If the leaked images are indeed genuine, it is great news for Starfield enthusiasts who are eager to acquire hardware that complements the game’s theme. As for the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, where Starfield is expected to have a substantial presentation, Xbox has promised to focus on action-packed content rather than relying on full CG trailers. Fans can look forward to an exciting showcase highlighting the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG.
