Sony is reportedly interested in bringing a God of War show to Amazon Prime

According to a report, Amazon Prime Video is in talks with Sony to create a live-action series based on the God of War games.

The executive producers of The Expanse, Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby, as well as Rafe Judkins, executive producer of The Wheel of Time, are expected to lead the series. PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures Television will also be involved.

The premise of the show is still unknown, but if a television adaptation is made, producers will have a lot of ground to cover. The elaborate Greek-inspired history of God of War, in which you play as the demigod Kratos, begins in 2005 with the release of the first game for PlayStation 2.

The series is now on its eighth installment, God of War: Ragnarok, which is set in the Norse realm of Midgard and is expected later this year.

Sony has signed several deals to adapt some of its most popular games for television and film. If you were hoping to watch all of this new content in one place, you’ll be disappointed — each show is signed to a different streaming network, and its films will be released in theatres (at least at the time of their initial release). Sony recently approved a live-action remake of Twisted Metal for Peacock.

There’s also the impending Ghost of Tsushima film from the same filmmaker as John Wick, an HBO-exclusive adaptation of The Last of Us, and, of course, Tom Holland’s recently released Uncharted film, which received mixed reviews.
