More juicy details on the Samsung Galaxy S24’s AI skills just leaked. As the January 17 launch nears, we’re getting a clearer picture of how these phones will showcase Samsung’s artificial intelligence ambitions.
According to tipster @MysteryLupin, Galaxy S24 models will feature live language translation in the Phone app and “nightography zoom” for brighter low-light pics. A “generative editor” can remove objects or fill backgrounds with a tap, similar to Google Photos tricks on Pixel phones.
The leak suggests these AI features may be exclusive to the pricier S24 Plus and Ultra models. No surprise Samsung reserves the best toys for its premium phones.
We know Google crammed AI magic into its latest Pixels, with more expected on the Pixel 9. Clearly Samsung aims to match or beat Google’s AI phone chops.
Previous rumors pointed to an S24 recorder that transcribes speech from up to 10 voices automatically. This newest intel fills out the AI portrait – the S24 line seems crazy capable.
As a hopeless shutterbug, I’m most excited for the low-light photography upgrades. My S22 Ultra already takes fantastic night photos. If “nightography zoom” can make dim scenes even clearer, I’ll be beyond impressed.
By mid-February when the S24 hits shelves, we’ll have the full official rundown from Samsung. The upgrades may go way beyond AI too.
The S24 is tipped to get major camera hardware improvements, including a 200MP main sensor. The top-end Ultra may also pack a souped-up Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for the US.
One thing’s clear – Samsung is out to stomp the AI competition with its 2024 flagship series. If these leaked features deliver, the S24 will be a serous Pixel challenger, with brains to match its brawn. AI assistant, magic eraser, night photographer extraordinaire – this phone aims to do it all.
