The first season of MultiVersus, Warner Bros.’ free-to-play take on a Super Smash Bros.-style crossover fighter, will now launch on August 15th, according to developer Player First Games. The season was supposed to begin on August 9th, but the studio revealed last week that it would be postponed.
Along with the announcement of the season start date, Player First Games revealed that Morty from Rick and Morty would be joining the MultiVersus roster on August 23rd; his entrance had previously been delayed. Player First Games has also promised to introduce “new modes and content” throughout the season. The Rick half of Rick and Morty was supposed to be introduced somewhere throughout the season before the season 1 delay, but it’s unclear whether that’s still the case.
We’re excited to announce Season 1 will begin on August 15 with a brand-new Battle Pass for you to earn in-game rewards! We can also confirm Morty will join the character roster on August 23 as part of Season 1. We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks! #MultiVersus
