Sauber’s Team Principal, Andreas Seidl, has set clear long-term goals for the team as he looks to make the organization desirable for employees, drivers, partners, and fans. In a Q&A published on the Sauber Group website, Seidl discussed his vision for the future and how he aims to drive the Switzerland-based team forward.
Seidl, who joined Sauber in early 2023 from his team boss role with McLaren, said that the team had shown its capabilities through continuous growth and sporting success over the years. He wants to keep that trajectory going in the short, medium, and long term, and turn Sauber into a team that can fight for podiums and race wins.
The team principal added that he wants to make Sauber a desirable team, where people want to be, and a team that fans want to follow. His focus, together with the team, is to work out, implement, and execute a clear plan of how they can get there.
Sauber is in a strategic partnership with German automotive giant Audi for the next F1 engine cycle, which will start in 2026. Seidl noted that this partnership was significant as it provided everyone at Sauber with stability and a clear direction of travel. He said that the team’s focus is on performing short-term in the coming season with Alfa Romeo, and on continuing their successful technical supply partnership with Ferrari for the next three years.
