Samsung’s next-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, are poised to undergo significant display changes according to the latest insider leaks.
Prolific smartphone tipster Naver reports both the interior and exterior screens on the Z Fold 6 will shift to new aspect ratios. The exact dimensions are unclear, but the design approach may also come to the Galaxy S25 down the road.
Currently, the Z Fold 5 features a narrow 23.1:9 outer display. Rumor suggests it could widen towards the more traditional 19.5:9 ratio used on January’s S23 phone. This would make the folded Z Fold 6 feel and handle more like a standard smartphone.
Meanwhile, the clamshell-style Z Flip 6 is tipped to again increase its external “cover” display, now measuring 3.9-inches corner to corner per one leak. The Z Flip 5 screen is 3.4-inches itself, up from 1.9 on its predecessor. Narrower overall bezels are also expected.
These changes would no doubt improve the user experience when the phones are closed. A wider Fold 6 seems more pocketable and usable, while a larger Flip 6 display enables quicker access for notifications and selfies without opening.
Other upgrades like more advanced processors are likely as well. The Z Fold 6 camera setup though may remain unchanged from the previous generation according to current chatter. The Z Flip 6 however could see photography improvements to better compete with rivals.
