Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 reportedly set for upcoming launch

Samsung may be unveiling its Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones on July 26, according to a leak reported by South Korean site Chosun. The next Samsung Unpacked event is expected to occur on this date, where both phones are anticipated to be launched. Normally, Samsung’s foldable smartphones are launched in mid-August, making this an earlier launch than usual. Leaker @Tech_Reve also suggested back in April that the two devices might land in July, and SamMobile further claimed that the last week of July would see their release – in line with the July 26 announcement date.

Despite these rumours, it is unlikely that the phones will ship immediately, as Chosun predicts August 11 to be the date when customers will get their hands on the smartphones. This would also be earlier than usual. The report indicates that the unveiling event will be held in South Korea, marking a change from Samsung’s typical US-based launch events.

This year is shaping up to be a big one for foldable smartphones. The Google Pixel Fold and Oppo Find N2 Flip have already been released, and upcoming models include the Motorola Razr 2023, the first OnePlus foldable phone, and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3. Samsung faces stiff competition if it wishes to retain its position as the market leader in foldable smartphones. No matter where the event is held, it is expected to be streamed online for a global audience, and TechRadar will cover all announcements as they happen.
