Samsung has traditionally employed a combination of Snapdragon and Exynos chips in previous Galaxy S lineups. However, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series exclusively incorporated Qualcomm silicon. With the forthcoming Galaxy S24 series, it appears that Samsung is poised to reintroduce its in-house processors, which may predominantly feature in devices sold within Europe, aligning with previous speculations.
A Customized Snapdragon Experience
Delving deeper into the chipset landscape, it is worth noting that the Galaxy S24 handsets may receive a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This tailored chipset, referred to as ‘for Galaxy,’ might bring unique optimizations and performance enhancements. Tipster Yogesh Brar has suggested that while the primary core of this custom chip will be overclocked, the two performance core clusters and the efficiency core clusters will be slightly underclocked—an unconventional approach. These adjustments are expected to bolster AI performance, aligning with the increasing importance of artificial intelligence in modern smartphones.
