Redfall may not have a release date, but Arkane is apparently no longer aiming for the original launch timeframe. Insider Okami Games claims that the next FPS has been postponed by six weeks and will now aim for an “early May release.”
Given that Redfall was supposed to debut in the summer of this year, this would be the second known Redfall postponement. Despite this, Okami Games claims that this development is probably “for the best,” and the little delay would seem to indicate that it is just for finalising before we get our hands on the much-awaited game.
Redfall’s intended March 2023 release date was never officially confirmed by Arkane, Bethesda, or Microsoft, but it’s fair to assume that won’t happen anymore. None of the firms involved has responded to the most recent information, which is remarkable given that it is believed to be an internal delay for a game that has not yet been given a release date.
Of again, if the March release window was ever true, this new postponement might have been created to free up some calendar space. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Bayonetta Origins, and the PC adaptation of The Last of Us Part 1 are just a few of the March 2023 releases that are already looking packed. Having said that, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League have already been announced as two significant releases for May.
Redfall’s official release date has yet to be announced, so we’ll have to wait and see. The only certainty we currently have is that it will arrive sometime during the first half of 2023, which does nothing to narrow it down. It’s noteworthy to note that Starfield was supposed to release after Redfall; thus, this may cause Bethesda’s next major RPG to be delayed as well.
