Razer, the popular gaming accessories manufacturer, has announced a new partnership with the creators of Roblox to launch a line of gaming gear. Despite the immense popularity of Roblox, this is the first time a major company has partnered with the game’s creator to release branded gear. The new line features updated versions of some of Razer’s best-selling products, such as the Orochi V2 gaming mouse, BlackWidow V3 mechanical keyboard, and Barracuda X headset, all of which are themed around Roblox.
What makes the Razer’s Roblox Edition peripherals different from other gaming collaborations is that each device comes with an in-game Roblox item. For example, the Orochi V2 comes with the “Razer Cyberpack,” a backpack in the shape of a mouse, while the BlackWidow features keyboard wings to adorn your Roblox avatar. However, these in-game items are not exact replicas of their real-world counterparts.
The pricing of the Roblox Edition accessories is higher than standard versions, with the Orochi V2 priced at $90, the headset at $130, and the mechanical keyboard at $180. In comparison, the standard Orochi V2 in black, white, and quartz colors costs $70, making the Roblox Edition accessories more expensive. The entire line of Razer’s Roblox Edition accessories will be available for purchase from April 28th via the Razer website and select retailers.
Despite the higher price, the unique Roblox branding and in-game items may appeal to fans of the game, especially children who may want to show off their exclusive gear to friends. With nearly 60 million daily active players, Roblox has become one of the most popular games globally, and the new partnership with Razer may only serve to increase its reach and appeal.
