Junker Queen earned more kills than any other hero during the Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus event, which ended on January 19. In keeping with the Greek mythology concept of Overwatch 2 Season 2, Blizzard published a unique limited-time mode that gave several characters on the roster mythical makeovers and altered their skills.
Junker Queen was given a Zeus-inspired makeover in Battle for Olympus, Roadhog was transformed into a cyclops, and Ramattra was given a Poseidon-inspired makeover. Other heroes received similar makeovers and were charged with competing in Free-for-All Deathmatches. Blizzard kept track of every kill achieved by each hero during the Battle for Olympus limited-time event, promising the top-scoring hero their own monument on Ilios.
Junker Queen won the competition with 43,461,573 kills, according to Blizzard’s stats. Junker Queen was followed by Damage hero Pharah, who managed to surpass 40 million kills but was still 3 million kills behind Junker Queen. Despite fan attempts to propel Lucio to the top of the scoreboard, the beloved Support hero only finished third by the conclusion of the Battle for Olympus tournament. Ramattra, the new Tank hero, has the lowest kill total with 25,521,055 kills.

Blizzard refers to the event as the “first annual” Battle for Olympus in their tweet announcing the winner, implying that it would be a new yearly event for Overwatch 2. Unless Blizzard chooses to repeat Season 2’s Greek mythology theme, a return to Battle for Olympus may seem strange. If the event returns, would another statue be added to an existing Overwatch 2 map, or will the Junker Queen monument be replaced? Finer details like these will most likely have to wait until next year if Blizzard chooses to bring back Battle for Olympus.
Because the fan reception to the Battle for Olympus was not especially good, some may be perplexed as to why Blizzard would want to bring it back at all. Many fans seemed to be dissatisfied with Battle for Olympus for a variety of reasons, with some accusing Blizzard of fixing the tournament so that Junker Queen would win regardless. Regardless, it will be intriguing to see what Overwatch 2 Season 3 has in store, and whether it is able to produce fresh content that is more effective than Battle for Olympus at getting people enthusiastic about the game.
