Online trailers for the Fire Emblem Engage title screen and opening cinematic

The Fire Emblem Engage title screen and opening sequence have just emerged online, with fans noting how the theme tune amplifies the anime feel. This video demonstrates the new characters included in this game, as well as the Emblem Rings, and how they relate to the game’s theme. With Fire Emblem Engage just a few weeks away from release, fans have been receiving a lot of information about the game’s gameplay and plot ahead of time.

Before the game’s release, gaming journalists and other YouTube video makers were given early access and previews, with many reporting their findings. This includes gameplay from the first several hours of the game to parts of Fire Emblem Engage’s cutscenes. N1-UP, a Dutch YouTube channel, also received a hands-on peek at the game, with a series of videos displaying some of the gameplay. One of the most famous videos on the channel is its beginning, which has English theme music.

Because the video includes both male and female versions of Alear, this opening will always appear regardless of the player’s selection. The opening sequence begins with a sight of Alear plummeting into flames before snatching a ring, which then reveals four of the game’s playable characters. This comprises Alfred, Diamant, Timerra, and Ivy, who represent the continent’s countries in Fire Emblem Engage. When the location and character descriptions surface, fans have observed that the English lyrics, in particular, match up with them.

Before transitioning to a sequence where Lumera, Alear’s mother, meets them in a chamber, the video continues with Alear joining their four new comrades as they continue their trip. Rings of light then encircle Alear, revealing glimpses between their current and previous selves, hinting at how Alear was probably bad in the past and did a lot of harm. It then switches to a brief montage of all five protagonists fighting, with all five sets facing a battle against the Fell Dragon.

As the tune fades away, Alear raises its Emblem ring to the heavens before it falls to the earth. The title screen is equally understated, with Alear calling out the game’s title and a slow circular pan around an interior room. Fans noticed that the game’s English theme tune has a higher-energy anime opening atmosphere, but a version heard in one of the Japanese ads is slower and sad, likely reserved for the closing credits.
