There’s a reason Vampire Survivors has been the most-played game on Steam Deck month after month: it’s a fun. As hordes of opponents swarm the screen, your character’s weapons auto-fire. In the midst of battle, all you have control over is the character’s mobility and weapon and item loadout (there are persistent powerups you can unlock as well). It’s one of those games that you have to try to understand the appeal, and it’ll soon be much simpler for many people to do so.
Vampire Survivors will be available on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on November 10th. The game will be accessible on Xbox Game Pass as well. Even though it only costs $5, this lowers the barrier to access even further.
It’s no surprise that Microsoft is adding one of the year’s biggest breakthrough blockbusters to Xbox Game Pass. Vampire Survivors was formerly accessible to PC Game Pass subscribers.
Return to Monkey Island is also coming to Xbox platforms and Game Pass this month. In September, the adventure series’ reboot was released on PC and Switch. On November 8th, it will be available on Xbox, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Return to Monkey Island will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 at that time, but not on Xbox One or PS4.
Football Manager 2023’s console edition will be available on November 8th for cloud, console, and PC. The full-fledged PC version of the game will also be available on Game Pass at that time. Football Manager 2022 and Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition, on the other hand, will be removed from Game Pass on that day.
There’s a lot more for Game Pass subscribers to look forward to this month. Ghost Song, a 2D metroidvania game in which you explore a faraway moon, will be available on the cloud, console, and PC on November 3rd. Pentiment by Obsidian, one of the year’s few remaining first-party Xbox exclusives, will be available on all three platforms on November 15th. Somerville, produced by Inside and Limbo executive producer Dino Patti, will be released on the same day.
Meanwhile, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier and The Walking Dead: Michonne are now available on PC Game Pass. The Legend of Tianding, a side-scrolling beat-’em-up, has just arrived on console, cloud, and PC.
In other news, Halo Infinite’s winter update will be released on November 8th. This will introduce online campaign co-op and Forge mode to the game, as well as new maps, a new game mode, and (finally) a mechanism to gain XP just by playing multiplayer games. Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition will be released as a free update on November 11th. Among the new features are helicopters, gliders, and a real-life aircraft.
