Off-Board Gameplay in Skate 4 Has Undergone Significant Changes

Skate 4 (commonly known simply as Skate) is making significant improvements to its off-board gameplay. Skate 4 is one of the most anticipated games in quite some time, with fans requesting it from EA for years. The Skate series gained momentum in the late 2000s and early 2010s as a welcome diversion from the Tony Hawk series. The Tony Hawk games were considerably more arcade-y, but the Skate series seemed more genuine in terms of skating physics. Of course, there were also extreme modes, such as Hall of Meat, in which players jumped from towering platforms and performed feats in order to harm their character as much as possible in order to get a high score.

The “off-board” gameplay was one of the things that earlier games lacked. When you got off your skateboard, all you could do was jog or perform some rudimentary air rolls while falling. However, developer Full Circle intends to spice things up a little. They discussed the progress they’re making in gameplay and the overall concept for the game in a new episode of the developer’s series, The Board Room. Off-board gameplay will be more entertaining, according to one of the primary points. Players will be able to jump fences, scale walls, and do other things. In one mechanism, players may leap off their board, grab a pole, swing from it, and land back on their board. It’s still in the early stages, but it seems like a great way to liven up the game’s mobility and stunts.

We don’t know when Skate 4 will be released as of yet. Many people are hoping to see it in 2023, but nothing is sure. The team is presently fleshing out its open-world map for the complete game after laying to rest the outdated test version shown in playtests and leaks. More are expected to come in the following months as the game continues to take form.
