Nvidia Slashes Price of RTX 4060 Ti 16GB to Compete with AMD’s RDNA 3 GPUs; New MSRP Now $449

Nvidia has reduced the recommended price of the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB by $50, bringing it down to $449.

This move by Nvidia is seen as a strategic response to AMD’s unveiling of the RX 7800 XT and 7700 XT, both of which are contenders in the mid-range graphics card market. AMD compared the 7700 XT, which comes with 12GB of VRAM, to Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti 16GB in terms of performance. While AMD showcased advantages in several games, Nvidia’s GPU did win in some scenarios, such as Doom Eternal with ray tracing, where it was 9% faster.

Nvidia’s decision to reduce the price of the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB aligns it more closely with the pricing of AMD’s 7700 XT. This price adjustment comes just before the launch of AMD’s new GPUs and is intended to make Nvidia’s offerings more competitive in the mid-range market. It is particularly attractive to consumers who prioritize future-proofing through the inclusion of 16GB of VRAM.
